    Job Title

    Travel RN – Medical Surgical / Transplant Nephrology (Night Shift)

    Kansas City, Missouri

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Projected Start: August 24, 2026

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care on a 20-bed Transplant Nephrology unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
    • Monitor and manage patients with renal and nephrology diagnoses, including kidney transplant recipients
    • Coordinate care with unit secretaries, patient care technicians, and a unit educator to support patient outcomes
    • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
    • Fulfill scheduling requirements including 3 weekend shifts per month; agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy
    • Collaborate with virtual nursing support, which handles patient admissions remotely, allowing bedside nurses to focus on direct patient care
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role
    • Proficiency or willingness to work within the Meditech documentation system
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with nephrology, renal care, or kidney transplant patient populations
    • Familiarity with dialysis coordination (note: dialysis is performed off the unit)
    • Background in a Level 1 trauma hospital environment
