Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services within an outpatient ambulatory care setting, working alongside providers and clinic staff to ensure quality patient care and efficient use of resources.
- Provide leadership and direction to clinic staff, overseeing efficient operation of all aspects of the clinic including front desk and patient care functions.
- Maintain medication inventory and supplies, and ensure required quality control checks are completed for Point of Care testing.
- Accurately and thoroughly document all care and services provided in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist providers and staff by anticipating needs and communicating effectively across departments to support patients and fellow clinic staff.
- Maintain skill sets, annual competencies, certifications, and participate in in-services, educational programs, and staff meetings as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state; must have applied for an Alaska nursing license prior to start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clinical Competency Assessment must be completed within 3 months of hire and renewed every three years.
- High Risk Competency must be completed within 3 months of hire and renewed annually.
- Knowledge of nursing process, customer service principles, and safety and infection control practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to problem-solve and apply critical thinking.
