Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Work night shifts on a 36/36 or 36/48 schedule, with floating to other units as required
- Actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside the provision of clinical care
- Complete required orientation modules and compliance requirements within designated timeframes
- Maintain no on-call obligations outside of scheduled shift commitments
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- AHA BLS certification required — AHA is the only accepted form; all other certifications will not meet compliance requirements
- Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing; two attempts allowed — failure to complete or pass within this timeframe may result in cancellation
- Must be available to complete a drug test within 12–14 calendar days prior to start date, with availability for a potential second lab visit if needed
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC guidelines for fit testing
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility's service area to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical setting
- Experience supporting clinical nursing students or participating in clinical education programs
- Familiarity with census-based scheduling environments and flexibility with shift adjustments
