    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

    Location

    Galesburg, IL

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 on night shift
    • Monitor and respond to telemetry events as communicated by central monitor technicians; manage patients on Lasix and Heparin drips
    • Care for patients with diagnoses including COPD, Sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and post-surgical conditions such as hip/knee procedures, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections
    • Manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy (no ventilators on unit)
    • Collaborate with APN in-house coverage and eHospitalist services available during night shift
    • Float to other floors as needed based on competency, assuming a full patient assignment
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Proficiency with EPIC EMR
    • Ability to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
    • Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior Medical Surgical nursing experience, particularly with telemetry monitoring and common drip management
    • Experience caring for post-surgical and complex medical patients including those on BiPAP, CPAP, or high-flow oxygen
    • Familiarity with self-scheduling practices and flexibility to meet block scheduling requirements
