Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Ortho Neuro)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 4 weekends per 4-week period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Ortho Neuro Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
- Support patients undergoing procedures including total knees, total hips, laminectomies, fusions, ORIF, ACDF, and VP shunt revisions
- Utilize spine and orthopedic braces and related equipment as part of routine patient care
- Document patient information and care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Float to Med Surg areas as needed based on census and staffing demands
- Collaborate as part of a team-oriented unit alongside charge nurses, CNAs, and support staff
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Meditech EMR experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
- BLS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Spine and/or orthopedic nursing background strongly preferred
- Relevant nursing certification (e.g., CMSRN or orthopedic specialty certification)
- Strong teamwork orientation and ability to adapt in a dynamic, census-driven environment
