Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-Hour Shifts)
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF population
Perform and manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, NG/PEG tube management, straight cath/Foley insertion, ostomy care, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
Float within skillset to other campus locations as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats
Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements (three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday)
May be required to precept nursing students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
Required Qualifications
Current, active Registered Nurse compact license
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIHSS certification
Minimum of 2 years of strong Medical-Surgical experience
At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
Trauma Level II experience required
Recent EPIC charting experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage change effectively
Experience with high-acuity Med-Surg patient populations including sepsis and post-surgical care
Demonstrated professionalism, resilience, and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
