    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit with a patient population that includes post-surgical cases (vascular, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, open abdominal), pre/post heart catheterizations, dementia, AMS, CIWA/detox, thyroid surgeries, and fall-risk patients
    • Perform and manage clinical skills including PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), stable drip administration (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, telemetry interpretation, and wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes)
    • Utilize EPIC for all charting; completion of a required EPIC checkoff class upon start
    • Float within skillset as first to float, including potential cross-campus float to nearby facilities with a minimum 2-hour notice for cross-campus floats; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
    • Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements: three weekends per every six-week schedule and every other holiday
    • May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active Registered Nurse compact license
    • AHA BLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum of two years of strong Medical-Surgical experience
    • At least one prior travel assignment
    • Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent EPIC charting experience required
    • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with pre/post heart catheterization care including femoral and transradial band management
    • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience with CIWA/detox protocols and dementia or AMS patient populations
