Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Urology Unit)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 or 48 hours per week expected
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Urology unit with high-acuity patient populations
- Manage patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7, maintaining safe and effective care standards
- Administer and monitor Insulin and Heparin drips with proficiency
- Participate in every-other-weekend (EOW) scheduling requirements; block booking available except on holidays
- Complete pre-start modules prior to first day (non-billable time required)
Required Qualifications
- Active Alabama RN license (compact or AL state license) in good standing, required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with demonstrated strength in high-acuity care
- Proficiency with Insulin and Heparin drips required
- BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- COVID-19 vaccination required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is on file
- Flu shot required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is on file
- Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
- Previous travel experience required; highly experienced candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be accepted
- Permanent address must be included with submission
- All compliance documentation must be completed no later than one week prior to start date
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis is a plus, though not required
- Comfort and confidence managing high patient ratios (1:6 or 1:7) in a fast-paced environment
