Full-Time | Permanent | Night Shift (7P–7A) | Onsite | Every other weekend and holiday required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and AKI
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 (up to 1:6), working alongside PCTs assigned at a 1:8 ratio
Monitor telemetry throughout the shift, reviewing and signing off on strips read by monitoring technicians
Serve in or support charge nurse and house supervisor roles as applicable
Float to ICU, ER, or behavioral health unit if experience level qualifies; otherwise floating remains within Med Surg
Complete department-specific orientation using a provided binder and structured onboarding shift
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip sign-off
Background in ICU, ER, or behavioral health settings for potential float opportunities
Familiarity with high-acuity diagnoses such as NSTEMI, sepsis, and AKI
