Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a bed size of 24–26, maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 on nights
Care for a diverse patient population including general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT cases
Administer and manage heparin drips and titrations as required by patient care needs
Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC electronic medical records
Float across multiple campuses as assigned to support staffing needs
Adhere to unit dress code requirements (navy blue solid scrub tops and bottoms)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
Patient care experience with general, gynecological, breast, abdominal, flaps, and ENT patient populations
Heparin drip and titration experience
Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
Current Level II trauma experience
Must have completed at least one travel nursing contract within the past 24 months (no first-time travelers)
Active Iowa RN license or valid Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
Current BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Recent or current Level I trauma experience
Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
