Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patient populations including hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery cases
• Administer and monitor drips including PCA and Heparin
• Float across multiple campuses as required
• Participate in holiday coverage - contractors are expected to work 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) unless the unit is closed
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• PCA and Heparin administration experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• BLS certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Post-operative surgical experience
• Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery populations
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
