Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Acute Neuro Unit)

Contract | Days | Varies 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an Acute Neuro Unit in a medical/surgical setting
- Monitor and assess neurological patients, documenting changes in condition and communicating with the care team
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and established protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Adhere to holiday scheduling expectations, including working 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Prior experience in an acute neuro or neuroscience unit
