Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed Ortho/Spine unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
- Care for patients undergoing knee and hip replacement surgeries as well as multi-level spine surgeries
- Operate and manage unit-specific equipment including CPMs, SCDs, coolers, and walkers
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, PCTs, and navigators to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per schedule block and participate in unit rotation floating policy
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with a strong ortho background
- Demonstrated compassion and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet a patient experience benchmark of 72%
- Compliance with required dress code: navy scrubs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an orthopedic or spine surgical unit setting
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
- Experience with post-operative care for joint replacement and spinal surgery patients
