Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 4 weekend shifts per 28-day schedule | Holiday rotation required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Manage patients with a variety of conditions including respiratory diseases, renal disease, GI illnesses, and telemetry needs
- Perform and oversee procedures involving CVCs, indwelling catheters, heparin drips, IV pumps, and SCDs
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Utilize communication boards to support patient experience standards
- Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators, Unit Secretaries, PCTs, and Case Management team members
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with Meditech or comparable electronic health record system
- Strong teamwork, compassion, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to float and participate in unit rotation as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with telemetry monitoring in a Med/Surg setting
- Familiarity with managing heparin drips and central venous catheters
- Experience working in a high-acuity Medical/Surgical environment with diverse patient populations
