Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a hospital setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments — including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs — and synthesize data to determine priorities and develop or update individualized care plans
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems and consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or high-risk discharge planning needs
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and utilize appropriate patient education materials relevant to the patient population
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care outcomes, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Familiarity with healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in a hospital setting
