    Job Title

    Travel RN – Medical Surgical

    Location

    Bryson City, NC | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Rotating weekends

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 17-bed Medical Surgical unit within a critical access hospital, serving inpatient, observation, and swing bed populations
    • Manage a patient population primarily consisting of adults aged 18 and older, with a majority of patients aged 65 and above, at a maximum ratio of 1:6
    • Perform and oversee PICC/CVC management and wound care as core clinical responsibilities
    • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and 24-hour provider coverage
    • Utilize the Paragon electronic health record (EHR) system for documentation and care coordination
    • Float as needed between facilities on Med-Surg or equivalent nursing units
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
    • Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical or equivalent nursing experience
    • ACLS certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • Proficiency in PICC/CVC management and wound care
    • Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a critical access hospital or small community hospital setting
    • Familiarity with the Paragon EHR system
    • Progressive care or step-down unit experience
    • Comfort working in a team-oriented environment with strong interdisciplinary collaboration
