    Job Title

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

    Location

    Bismarck, ND

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12-Hour Shifts, Days and Nights | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide care for observation-status patients including chest pain, abdominal pain, post-operative cases (hysterectomies, knee scopes, tonsillectomies, appendectomies, hernias), and infusion patients requiring blood or antibiotics
    • Manage high patient turnover in a fast-paced environment, including multiple admissions and discharges within a single 12-hour shift
    • Perform pre- and post-operative patient assessments and nursing interventions including IV starts, Foley catheter insertion, and dressing changes
    • Accurately administer and document medications using electronic medication scanning and narcotic dispensing systems
    • Document patient care using Epic EMR throughout the shift
    • Float to other Medical-Surgical areas as needed, following the same rotation as permanent staff
    Required Qualifications
    • Active North Dakota RN license or valid Compact RN license
    • Current BLS certification
    • Proficiency with Epic EMR
    • Experience with IV therapy, Foley catheter placement, dressing changes, and standard medical-surgical nursing skills
    • Ability to manage high patient turnover and maintain strong organizational skills in a fast-paced unit
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience caring for observation-status or short-stay surgical patients
    • Familiarity with automated narcotic dispensing systems
    • Experience in a high-volume Medical-Surgical or step-down unit
