Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical Float unit covering a combined 61-bed environment with day ratios of 1:5
Care for a diverse patient population including surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, diabetic complications)
Monitor and confirm telemetry strip readings in collaboration with monitor technicians
Manage respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen as needed
Float to other units as required per department needs
Participate in call/standby requirements as assigned per LCD guidelines
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Prior Medical Surgical nursing experience consistent with current med/surg standards
Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday
Willingness and ability to float to other units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for surgical patients including total joints, bariatric, and urology populations
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and strip confirmation
Comfort with respiratory support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
