Registered Nurse – Neuro Med/Surg (4th Floor)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract (13 Weeks) | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Neurosurgery/Neuroscience unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Care for neurosurgery and neuroscience patients requiring specialized monitoring and intervention
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes using Cerner EMR
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, quality patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid for practice in Alabama
- AHA BLS certification (required)
- AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro and/or Neurosurgery nursing
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for neurosurgery and neuroscience patient populations
- Familiarity with stroke care protocols and neurological assessment tools
- Demonstrated positive attitude and strong work ethic in a fast-paced clinical environment
