Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to medical, surgical, orthopedic, and behavioral health patients on a 41-bed unit (12 semi-private, 29 private rooms)
Perform patient assessment, care planning, patient education, medication administration, and wound care
Perform and assist with procedures including chest tube management, trach care, paracentesis, and thoracentesis; provide care for behavioral health patients experiencing a medical emergency
Monitor telemetry patients and manage patient admissions and discharges
Utilize Epic for computerized charting and AccuDose for medication management; operate equipment including EZ Stand, Hoyer Lift, Overbed Lift, SCDs, Glucometers, and Space Labs Vitals Machines
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team, ward secretaries, and nursing aides while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety
Required Qualifications
Active Minnesota (MN) Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical unit
BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
Ability to monitor telemetry patients and work effectively in a team environment
Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to adjusted rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience caring for orthopedic patients
Comfort and experience floating to Telemetry, Observation, Acute Rehab, or Post-Partum units as needed
Familiarity with AccuDose medication systems and patient lift equipment
