Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving a general mix of medical patients alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
Work on an Observation Unit functioning as an ER overflow, supporting rapid admission and discharge cycles with a focus on continuous reassessment of patient readiness for discharge
Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:4–5; ratios may extend to 1:7 when working in an RN/LPN team model
Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed, typically approximately once per week based on unit need
Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
Adhere to facility compliance requirements including timely completion of orientation modules and maintaining current licensure and certifications
Required Qualifications
Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
Willingness to float to other units and work with a variety of clinical staff
Ability to work every other weekend; no holiday time-off requests guaranteed
Supervisor-level references required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
Emergency Room (ER) experience will be considered in lieu of or in addition to Med Surg background
Experience working in fast-paced, high-turnover patient environments
