Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite | Up to 26 Weeks | 36 or 48 hours per week available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving a general mix of medical patients alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Work on an Observation Unit functioning as an ER overflow, supporting rapid admission and discharge cycles with a focus on continuous reassessment of patient readiness for discharge
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:4–5; ratios may extend to 1:7 when working in an RN/LPN team model
- Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed, typically approximately once per week based on unit need
- Work every other weekend as part of the standard schedule
- Adhere to facility compliance requirements including timely completion of orientation modules and maintaining current licensure and certifications
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Willingness to float to other units and work with a variety of clinical staff
- Ability to work every other weekend; no holiday time-off requests guaranteed
- Supervisor-level references required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Emergency Room (ER) experience will be considered in lieu of or in addition to Med Surg background
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-turnover patient environments
