Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 3 shifts/week | 4 weekend shifts per month | No call requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Medical Surgical unit with patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
- Utilize telemetry monitoring and unit equipment including Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, and Vital Sign Machines
- Document and manage patient records using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Charge Nurses and Patient Care Technicians on night shift
- Monitor and assess patients, including those requiring NIHSS and telemetry evaluation
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Telemetry competency required
- Minimum 1 year of hospital experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 3 or more years of nursing experience
- Experience in epilepsy care or neurology settings
- Receptive to feedback and demonstrates an ownership mentality in patient care
