Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel Contract)

Austin, TX | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend expected
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit with a night shift ratio of 1:6
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses and patient care technicians
- Perform and assist with all surgical procedures, including care for kidney transplant patients
- Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate and timely documentation
- Communicate effectively using facility communication tools including i-mobile iPhones and radio headsets
- Maintain BLS certification as required throughout the assignment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience
- BLS certification required
- No on-call requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with transplant, dialysis, and/or diabetic patient populations
- ACLS certification
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Strong team player who takes initiative in a fast-paced environment
