Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Medical/Surgical floor serving a diverse surgical and trauma population, including patients with gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia
- Manage a patient assignment ratio of 5:1 with support from nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary during night shifts
- Participate in structured nurse handoff process coordinated between the ED nurse and the admitting unit
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support post-surgical and trauma patient recovery
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records required
- Must be available to work assigned night shifts; block scheduling is not available
- No time-off requests (RTO) will be accommodated during the contract period
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Experience caring for trauma, surgical, or spinal cord injury patient populations
- Familiarity with high-acuity inpatient environments and trauma unit workflows
