Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Medical/Surgical floor serving a diverse surgical and trauma population, including patients with gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia
- Manage a patient ratio of 5:1 with support from nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary during night shifts
- Participate in structured nurse handoff process coordinated between the ED nurse and the admitting unit
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
- Adhere to assigned shift schedules; no block scheduling available and no requested time off (RTO)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency in EPIC EMR is required
- Must be willing to work assigned night shifts; no block schedules or RTO accommodated
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Experience working with high-acuity surgical and trauma patient populations
- Familiarity with care of patients with spinal cord injuries, including quadriplegia and paraplegia
