    Job Title

    Travel Registered Nurse – General Surgery (Night Shift)

    Location

    Asheville, North Carolina

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13-Week Assignment | Projected Start: September 14, 2026

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed General Surgery unit during night shift, managing a patient ratio of 1:7
    • Perform and monitor procedures including TPN, PCA, wound vacs, tube feeds, PEG tubes, NG tubes, colostomies, urostomies, and various surgical drains
    • Administer and manage heparin drips, IV antibiotics, and other ordered medications using Baxter IV pumps
    • Care for post-operative patients across a range of surgical specialties including urology, bowel resection, plastics, and general surgery
    • Communicate effectively with charge nurses, unit secretaries, providers, and CNA team members to ensure coordinated patient care
    • Float to other medical-surgical areas as needed and adhere to weekend scheduling requirements (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
    • Demonstrated telemetry competency
    • Ability to manage 6–7 patients per shift depending on assignment
    • Experience with urology and bowel surgery patient populations
    • Current BLS certification; telemetry certification required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience in a medical-surgical or general surgery setting
    • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
    • Experience with a broad range of surgical procedures including cholecystectomies, appendectomies, nephrectomies, hysterectomies, mastectomies, and hernia repairs
