Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 31-bed Oncology Medical Surgical unit on night shift
- Administer chemotherapy and manage oncology-related patient needs including neutropenia precautions
- Deliver post-operative and post-surgical care including continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
- Provide hospice and end-of-life care support as needed within the unit
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:5/6 while utilizing standard medical surgical equipment, including some traction
- Float within the medical surgical service line as directed per unit guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of hospital-based nursing experience
- Demonstrated post-surgical care experience
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current ACLS certification
- Oncology chemotherapy administration experience (ONC Chemo preferred)
- Experience with Meditech EMR
- Oncology or Medical Surgical nursing certification (e.g., ONC, CMSRN)
