Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit in accordance with facility policies and nursing standards of practice
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered, monitoring patients for responses and adverse effects
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate and optimize patient outcomes
- Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in the electronic health record
- Maintain a safe patient environment and adhere to infection control and regulatory compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas or compact licensure eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current BLS certification (ACLS may be required)
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical setting
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in acute care facilities
- Experience with high patient acuity and diverse patient populations
