Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – New York
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: Utica, New York
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 48 hours per week. Block scheduling requests considered but not guaranteed. Floating to other units required as needed.
Highlights:
- Medical-Surgical unit providing comprehensive post-surgical and acute care to adult patient populations
- Common diagnoses include post-surgical care, abdominal conditions, cholelithiasis, orthopedic cases including fractures and osteoarthritis, back pain, and bariatric surgery patients
- Work with specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes
- EPIC electronic medical record system in use
- 13-week assignment with qualified travel nursing professionals
- Local candidates considered (within 75 miles)
Requirements:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in New York State (verified through NURSYS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
- Documented travel nursing experience required
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to float to other units as assigned
- Time off requests must be submitted at time of application
