- Experience with chest tubes.
- Proficient with drips such as diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone.
- Knowledge of lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients.
- Experience with tracheostomies and laryngectomies.
- Ability to monitor telemetry.
- Experience with complex wound care.
- Competence in central line care and maintenance, including blood draws.
Description:
The position involves caring for a diverse medical patient population.
Patients may present with acute or chronic illnesses such as sepsis and various infectious processes.
Care may also involve managing acute kidney injuries and chronic kidney diseases, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Diabetes management and handling gastrointestinal issues are also essential.
The RN will monitor fluid and electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, and liver disease.
Substance misuse and endocarditis will be part of the nurse's care scope.
Heart disease management and skin/wound care are integral to this role.
The RN will work with patients suffering from acute and chronic respiratory illnesses, including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and cystic fibrosis.
