The nurse will provide care for adult and geriatric patients. Patient population includes those with diabetes, renal issues, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, abdominal rule outs, and cancer patients not receiving current chemotherapy. Surgical patients will not be a part of this unit's care. The nurse will work a night shift. The standard patient ratio is 1:6. There is a requirement for weekend coverage every other weekend. The nurse will float within the service line as needed. There is no on-call requirement for this position. Candidates should be comfortable managing various procedures and equipment related to medical-surgical nursing, such as BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and phlebotomy. Travelers must ensure all compliance and credentialing requirements are met before beginning the assignment. No more than 7 days of requested time off is allowed during the contract period. The nurse must wear navy blue scrubs during their shifts. Modules will need to be completed prior to the start date, and completion is mandatory for all traveling nurses.
