Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 5 years required License: Must have valid nursing license Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Will need to pass EKG exam. Experience with Med/Surg, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Total Joint Replacements, Surgical drains, Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Wound Care. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. The nurse will care for patients with traumatic injuries and assist in various procedures. Candidate will need to manage patient ratios of 1:4-6. Floating within the service line is required. Every other weekend coverage is also required. The nurse will work with a diverse patient population including geriatric trauma. Experience in caring for abuse/violence victims, motor vehicle accidents, falls, and acute care surgeries is essential. Special equipment needed includes lifts, restraints, and wound vacs. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams is crucial. Candidates must be willing to accommodate the clinical needs of the unit. All required skills include but are not limited to telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias. Proper safety and isolation precautions must be followed. The nurse will be expected to engage in ongoing professional development and education.
