Must-Have:
Experience with trach and BiPAP preferred, but not required.
RNs required to titrate drips.
Charge Nurse on each shift available as a resource.
Nurse aids/patient care techs available on unit.
Tele/monitor techs present on unit, RN not required to interpret strips.
Floating to other MedSurg units may be required.
Description:
The unit consists of 31 beds.
Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 during the night.
Common diagnoses include adults and geriatrics with strokes, hypertension, COPD, cellulitis, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, chest pain, myocardial infarction, altered mental status/behavioral issues, some telemetry, and surgical overflow cases.
Oncology care is provided, and staff may administer chemotherapy.
RNs will encounter patients requiring titratable and set rate drips, including Lasix and Heparin.
The unit culture promotes teamwork and a supportive environment.
Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed is required.
Self-scheduling options may be considered based on unit needs.
Shifts include rotating responsibilities, with no specific scrub color required.
