Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,703 per week in Leawood, KS

You'll provide comprehensive post-operative care to a diverse surgical patient population in a fast-paced, supportive environment where your skills in complex procedures and patient management will be valued and advanced. Experience with ostomy management, NGT placement, central line care, JP drains, wound management, IV starts, blood administration, and nutritional supplementation including TPN.

Job Opportunity – Surgical Specialty Unit RN – Kansas

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Leawood, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 48 hours per week guaranteed preferred; every 3rd weekend; two Mondays and two Fridays per 4-week scheduling period

• 20-bed private room surgical specialty unit focused on post-operative patient care
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with total patient care responsibility, 5:1 with patient care tech support
• High-paced environment within a Center of Excellence in Colorectal and Robotics surgery, MBSAQIP certified in Bariatric surgery
• HCA Unit of Distinction for Med-Surg 2021 award recipient
• EMR: Meditech; equipment includes Alaris IV/PCA pumps, Pyxis, telemetry, wound vacs, and capnostream machines
• Collaborative unit with tech support and floating opportunities to similar medical/surgical/telemetry units

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Kansas or compact state eligibility
• Current BLS certification required
• Medical-surgical nursing experience is required
• Strong understanding of post-operative care principles
• Experience with ostomy management, NGT placement, central line care, JP drains, wound management, IV starts, blood administration, and nutritional supplementation including TPN
• Royal blue tops and black or royal blue bottoms (uniform requirement)
