# Job Opportunity – Surgical Specialty Registered Nurse – KansasStart Date:

Schedule:

48 hours per week guaranteed. Every 3rd weekend required. Two Mondays and Fridays per 4-week scheduling period. May float to like medical/surgical/telemetry units.

  • 20-bed private surgical specialty unit with 4:1 patient ratio (5:1 with patient care tech support)
  • High-paced, post-operative care environment with diverse surgical patient population
  • Working in a facility recognized as a Center of Excellence in Colorectal and Robotics, and MBSAQIP certified in Bariatric surgery
  • Award-winning unit: Unit of Distinction for Med-Surg 2021
  • Electronic documentation system (Meditech) with modern equipment including Alaris pumps, telemetry, and Pyxis medication dispensing
  • Supportive unit staffing with 4-5 nurses per shift and dedicated patient care technician
Requirements:
  • Active RN license in Kansas or compact state eligibility
  • Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
  • Strong understanding of post-operative care and surgical patient management
  • Proficiency in ostomy management, central line care, wound care, IV therapy, blood administration, and NG tube management
  • BLS certification required
  • Ability to manage JP drains, wound vacs, PCA pumps, epidural catheters, and nutritional supplementation including TPN
