Key Responsibilities of the Neuro MedSurg Acute Registered Nurse

• Manage patient care in a 54-bed acute care setting
• Care for patients with stroke, spine surgery, brain tumor, and head injuries
• Titrate Heparin drips based on PTT
• Collaborate with a charge nurse and house supervisor present 24/7
• Float as needed within skill competency across units

Requirements of the Neuro MedSurg Acute Registered Nurse

• Active IL license or pending application
• BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with level 1 trauma
• Previous travel experience; no first-time travelers
• Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
