Handle an average of 6 patients per nurse ratio. Participate in rapid response team activation when necessary. Required skills include blood product administration, chest tube management, and colostomy care. Experience with feeding tube care and insulin management is critical. Ability to perform phlebotomy and start/maintain IVs is necessary. Wound care and managing surgical drains will be part of the responsibilities. Support will be available from interdisciplinary team members such as physical therapy and pharmacy. Patients will primarily be adults and geriatrics. The daily census will typically be around 32 patients. Floating to like units may be required based on facility needs.
