Description:
Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy.
The traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
The unit has 42 beds, with a patient ratio goal of 1:6, which may increase to 1:7.
The staffing includes 8 nurses on day shifts and 4 techs on every shift.
Typical medical-surgical equipment includes EKGs, bladder scanners, and vein finders.
The documentation system in use is Meditech.
Staff will float as needed.
Med-surg skills are essential for the role.
Procedures performed on the unit include wound care, Foley catheter insertion, and tracheostomy care.
The unit was recognized for excellent patient safety with a Great Catch award.
It also received acknowledgment for the most improved fall rate.
