Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Registered Nurse License required Certifications: BLS required; ONS/ONCC Certification preferred Must-Have: Telemetry skills Central Line Draws Ports Blood Administration PCA Pumps Bone Marrow Aspiration Assist Pleurx Chest Tubes Chemotherapy Administration preferred Description: This position involves working in a 29-bed unit focused on medical and surgical patients battling cancer. The role requires providing palliative care and family education on oncology processes. You will also care for urology and telemetry patients. The typical patient ratio is 4-5:1 during the day shift and 5-6:1 at night. This role includes floating to other units as needed. The schedule will require working every other weekend. Candidates with strong experience in medical-surgical nursing will be considered, even if they lack oncology experience. Flu vaccination is required unless medical exemptions are provided. COVID-19 vaccination is not required. All candidates must adhere to the institution’s vaccination policies as related to the flu season. The facility provides a supportive interdisciplinary team environment. This position requires strong skills in administration and monitoring of chemotherapy, along with various patient care responsibilities. Candidates should be prepared to manage complex patient needs and provide high-quality nursing care. Documentation and charting experience using Cerner is required.
