Must-Have: Basic medical/surgical relevant and current experience. Large hospital experience. No first-time travelers.
Description:
Float Pool between Medical Oncology, two surgical units, and two medical units.
Nurse-patient ratio is 1:6.
Total care provided with no Patient Care Assistants.
Occasional strip reading, no telemetry.
Transitioning to an electronic health record system in November 2026.
Unit has 128 beds.
No requirement for RNs to titrate drips.
Charge Nurse on each shift takes an assignment.
Nurse aides/patient care technicians are present, with varying ratios and duties.
Respiratory support is readily available for Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.
Staff is assigned to needed areas; no self-scheduling or block scheduling.
Weekend requirement is every other week; no holiday requirement.
No call or standby requirement.
Floating required to any Medical Surgical area.
Scrubs are navy blue; provided scrubs are not available.
Three shifts of unit-specific orientation provided.
Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be cancelled per 13-week assignment.
Charting system is Cerner with a transition to an electronic health record system in November 2026.
BSN is not required.
Trauma level is 2.
Care setting is acute.
