Experience: Minimum 1 year required. License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Rehab experience preferred. - Experience as a Med Surg nurse acceptable if previous travel experience is evident. Description: Department: Rehabilitation Nursing Unit has 10 private rooms. Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:5. Common diagnoses include 40% stroke, trauma, orthopedic, neurological, and a variety of disabilities. Average length of stay is 10-14 days on this adult unit. RNs are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. Charge nurse takes patient assignments with a 1:5 ratio. Travelers have the opportunity to take charge roles. There are nurse aides available during day and evening shifts but none during the night shift. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and a rehabilitation physician are part of the team. RNs are responsible for administering nebs and inhalers. Respiratory therapists handle CPAP and BiPAP during night shifts. Shifts for RNs may include variations such as 12-hour or 8-hour options. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend to every third. Holiday requirements range from two to three during winter and every other for other holidays. Floating may occur to similar medical-surgical tele units. Any color scrubs are acceptable as long as they are clean and professional. Note: Previous employment with this organization must have an end date of at least six months prior to submission. All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
