Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience in a large hospital, level 2 or higher trauma center. Travel experience required unless the clinician has multiple years of experience in a large level 1 center. Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred but not required.
License: Active RN License in North Dakota or a Compact State License
Certifications: BLS - must be American Heart Association certified
Must-Have:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience, working in a hospital with a minimum of 200 beds.
- Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Active RN License in North Dakota or a Compact State License.
Description:
The role involves caring for medical surgical patients and surgical oncology patients.
The Registered Nurse will collaborate with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge.
Utilizes appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in the clinical setting.
Equipment utilized includes EMR, Epic, AccuDose, bladder scanners, Philips monitors, and telemetry.
This position may require floating to other medical surgical units.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on day shifts and 6:1 on night shifts.
Training involves one day of lead center training followed by two shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
