Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS - must be AHA Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience in a larger hospital with a minimum of 200 beds or at a level 2 or higher trauma center. - Travel experience required unless multiple years of experience in a large level 1 facility. - Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred, but not required. - EPIC experience. Description: The position involves working with Medical Surgical and Surgical Oncology patients. The nurse will collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge. Utilizes appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in the assigned clinical setting. The unit has a 47-bed capacity with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 on day shifts and 6:1 on night shifts. The position may require floating to various medical/surgical units within the facility. General job duties include patient care management and collaboration with healthcare team members. All nurses must badge in and out when entering the facility. Scrubs must be navy blue. The training program includes one day of lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
