Key Responsibilities of the Med/Surg Registered Nurse- Apply nursing knowledge and skills in the delivery of care.
- Assess patient and family needs through active listening and analysis, creating individualized care plans.
- Promote health, safety, and rights of the patient; build mutual trust and respect within the team.
- Educate and motivate patients and families to support self-care beyond hospitalization.
- Evaluate nursing practice quality and effectiveness; engage in self-evaluation and professional development.
- Develop helping, trusting relationships by understanding patient/family priorities.
- Demonstrate skill in medication administration and intervention application.
- Safeguard public safety through infection prevention compliance.
Requirements of the Med/Surg Registered Nurse- NYS RN Licensure
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
- One year of experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
