Must have 2-3 years of experience in specialty. Must be a team player. Description: Unit has 30 beds. Holiday request time off will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed. Nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 5. Charge nurse and clinical supervisor will do break relief and will not take patient assignments. Two nurse aides will be available on days and one on nights. Staff is required to work four weekend shifts in a four-week schedule. Holidays will be worked into the permanent staff rotation. Scrub color is navy. Portable telemetry box is available if needed. Monitoring tech is available, and nurses must be able to read and interpret telemetry. Nurses will have to take a dysrhythmia exam. No ventilators are present. Clientist services are available 24/7. IV team is available. Pharmacy is available 24/7. Shifts are from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. Nurses may float to telemetry with a 1 to 4 ratio. Nurses may also float between medical surgical floors. Floor-specific orientation requires one shift on the unit. Common diagnoses and types of patients include medical patients and post-operative/surgical patient populations. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
