Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical unit in Janesville, Wisconsin. This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a dynamic hospital environment.

The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a diverse patient population. This includes administering medications, performing treatments, and collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and experience. Flexibility to float to other units as needed is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive and individualized patient care.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, hospital policies, and state practice acts.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all aspects of patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Develop, initiate, and execute patient care plans, including providing essential patient and family education.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Apply clinical expertise and provide guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care, including floating to other units as required.
  • Employ critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and enhance the patient experience, escalating concerns appropriately through the chain of command.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current influenza (flu) vaccination.
  • Verification of education.
