Description:
Position available for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse.
This role includes working night shifts, specifically 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
The patient-to-nurse ratio typically supports 1:6, with possible adjustments to 1:7 if needed.
Weekends are required, with rotations every other weekend.
On-call requirements may occur due to low census.
Candidates must be comfortable floating to similar units as needed.
Two years of experience is preferred, but first-time travelers are accepted.
BLS certification is mandatory, along with preferred certifications in ACLS and NIHSS.
Skills in insulin management, rapid response, and telemetry are essential.
This is a general medical surgical unit catering to adult and geriatric patient populations.
The unit is responsible for a variety of common medical and surgical conditions.
Interdisciplinary support includes teams from various specialties such as pharmacy, respiratory services, and physical therapy.
Familiarity with telemedicine technology is required, and instruction will be provided.
Applicants should be aware of potential emergency assignments during hurricane seasons, which occur from June to November.
