There may be a call rotation as well. Patient ratios are 1:6, occasionally 1:7. Candidates should have experience in a similar role. Certifications required include a valid RN license and BLS. ACLS certification is preferred. The role involves floating within scope to meet facility needs. Local candidates are not accepted. All requested time off must be provided upon submission. Approval for time off is based on the unit's needs. The facility can cancel a traveler for one shift every two weeks if necessary. The hospital is an acute care facility with a total of 396 staffed beds. The unit supports interdisciplinary care, including IV teams and physical therapy. Travelers should also be aware that during hurricane season, emergency response assignments may occur. The hurricane season runs from June through November.
