Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Experience with common diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, and AKI Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care. The unit consists of a total of 37 beds across two floors. Ideal nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 but can reach up to 1:7. Patient Care Technicians are available with a ratio of 1:8. There is telemonitoring on this unit, with monitoring technicians reading strips while registered nurses sign off on them during their shifts. Shifts run from 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM. Weekend and holiday shifts are typically required every other week. Floating to ICU or ER may be required if experience permits; otherwise, no floating will occur outside of Medical-Surgical. Scrub color is not restricted, but close-toed shoes and good hygiene are necessary. Department-specific orientation involves one shift, with detailed information provided in a supplied binder. The work environment is focused on providing acute care for patients with various medical conditions. The facility maintains a drug-free policy and requires a negative drug screen as part of the hiring process.
